Highlights panel

The Highlights panel appears at the top of the File Record Page and summarizes the most important file information.

You typically see:

  • File name (shown as the page header)
  • File size
  • Owner
  • Description
  • Folder (where the file is stored in Cartularius)
  • Latest publication date
  • Last modified on server

Use this section when you want a quick answer to questions like “What file is this?”, “Where is it stored?”, and “Who owns it?”.

Main content area

Below the Highlights panel, the main content area contains tabs for reviewing the file and its metadata.

Preview tab

The Preview tab lets you view supported file types directly in Salesforce without downloading the file. The preview is read-only.

Preview availability depends on:

  • The file type, and
  • Your organization’s configuration.

Details tab

The Details tab displays the file’s metadata and attributes (e.g., classification fields such as description and file category). This helps you understand how the file is managed and how it fits into your organization’s document structure.

Sidebar

The sidebar provides quick access to versioning and related information.

Upload New File Version

The Upload New File Version section allows you to add a new version directly from the File Record Page by dragging a file into the drop area. This is useful when you are already reviewing the file and want to update it immediately.

Related lists

The File Record Page sidebar also contains related lists that help you understand the full lifecycle of the document:

  • File Versions – All versions of the file
  • External Links – External links created for sharing the file
  • File History – Actions performed on the file over time
  • Audit Log – Audit-related events

These lists help you answer questions like “What changed?”, “Which versions exist?”, and “Has this file been shared?”.
